About Us

Navodaya Educational And Environment Development Service (NEEDS)

Our NGO empowers marginalized rural communities by enhancing livelihoods, promoting sustainable development, and fostering education and environmental conservation.

Navodaya Educational and Environment Development Service (NEEDS), established in 1992 and based in Ranebennur, Haveri District, Karnataka, is a voluntary organization focused on the development of rural communities, including small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, landless individuals, and minorities, with a special emphasis on women. Our initiatives encompass Thrift and Credit Programs for women self-help groups, Youth Empowerment Campaigns, Gramasabha Awareness, and Village Forest Committees involving school children, as well as Afforestation Programs to foster community participation. We have created various community-based organizations (CBOs), such as SHGs, VDCs, VFCs, User Groups, and Farmers Clubs, and established federations at village and taluk levels. Our efforts span Haveri, Davangere, Chitradurga, Bellary, Gadag, Dharwad, Belgaum, Uttara Kannada, and Shimogga districts, reaching over 10,000 beneficiaries. Through these activities, we aim to enhance livelihoods and promote sustainable development across rural communities.

Our Vision

NEEDS envisions a society free from exploitation, where equal opportunities are provided to backward and marginalized groups, particularly poor farmers, women, children, Dalits, and tribal communities. Our goal is to ensure their active participation in development and democratic processes, ultimately leading to greater prosperity and self-reliance for all.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower individuals by fostering awareness, organization, and self-reliance. We aim to create a sustainable environment where individuals can take control of their own destinies and lead a dignified life.
