Our NGO empowers marginalized rural communities by enhancing livelihoods, promoting sustainable development, and fostering education and environmental conservation.
Navodaya Educational and Environment Development Service (NEEDS), established in 1992 and based in Ranebennur, Haveri District, Karnataka, is a voluntary organization focused on the development of rural communities, including small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, landless individuals, and minorities, with a special emphasis on women. Our initiatives encompass Thrift and Credit Programs for women self-help groups, Youth Empowerment Campaigns, Gramasabha Awareness, and Village Forest Committees involving school children, as well as Afforestation Programs to foster community participation. We have created various community-based organizations (CBOs), such as SHGs, VDCs, VFCs, User Groups, and Farmers Clubs, and established federations at village and taluk levels.
